Testimony 19
The retreat allowed us to have quiet personal time to contemplate our life; the coordinators dimmed the lights and lit candles in the centre to create a conducive room to reflect. Well, this might be the moment to doze off or daydream. But before my brain functions switched off, there was a familiar captivating heat that radiating from a source of presence. This tender heat permeated the room; the molecules of heat fused with me to make me recognise it was omnipresence. The chemical reaction produced a phrase “God answers prayers” in my mind. These words hugged my attention, and I kept still to let it flow in me.
I wanted to tell everyone, but it was a peaceful time for prayers, so I decided not to cause a disturbance. As I took my time, I became a glass overflowing with water and I needed to find another container to hold the water. I must deliver the message. At this point, I spotted my two old-timed friends, Julia and George who were facilitators seated at the corner. I approached my targets to proclaim the good news. They too acknowledged that the presence of Jesus was strong. It wasn’t as tough as I thought to announce the good news and I finally could rest easy.
The last session of the day soon ended, the retreatants left and prepared for bedtime. The facilitators stayed behind for some briefing. So next morning came, I met Julia who confused me along the corridor when she asked with all smiles whether I had the gift of prophecy. Of course, I said no. Then she recalled what happened last night. After the briefing, Sister decided to end the day with the Word of God, so she came up with “God answers prayers.” What a coincidence! Deep in my heart, I knew God made this accident happen. I was in awe of the speed and manner that God fulfils his Word. I praised and thanked God for Julia and George for this wonderful experience.
